Get to Know Me

Kiera Pic 2.jpg

Hello! I'd like to tell you a little bit more about myself personally. I grew up in Saint Michael, MN which is about 40 minutes away from Minneapolis. Just close enough to the cities for everything you need but just far enough away for a small town feel. I have one younger sister and one younger brother along with three older step-sisters. I love spending time with my family and friends playing board or card games, going on the lake, watching movies, traveling, going out to eat- whatever really! I ran cross country in high school and still really enjoy running and working out when I can fit it in. If I had to pick two things everyone knows about me soon after meeting me is that I love ice cream and I love Thomas Rhett, both are very true! In fact, I found my favorite designer, April Tomlin, because she designed Thomas Rhett's new home. In my career, I would love to get a chance to meet her or even better, work with her. Residential design is what I enjoy most and is what I see myself doing after graduation. What excites me is getting to create the personal environment of a home tailored to each specific client so it reflects their personality. I hope you enjoyed learning more about me, and I'd love to get to know you, so feel free to reach out! -Taylor

Personal Design Statement

My primary interest in interior design is being able to create residential spaces for clients that not only function well and are aesthetically pleasing, but are tailored to their specific wants and needs and it truly feels like home. I believe the best way to accomplish this is by adding personal touches to the project to give the client a sense of comfort and belonging. Home is where people spend a lot of time and it’s a private space, so being able to provide clients with a home that suits their needs and puts a smile on their face when they see the finished project gets me excited for residential design. I think interior designers have the power and skills to make someone’s life more comfortable and functional than most people think. Other factors of design that are important to me in my projects are making them sustainable and inclusive to all. I'm looking forward to working with clients on all of these factors and producing projects for them to the best of my ability.
